### 2. Inviting the class Once you have lectures and assignments ready, you can invite students to join so they can start working on it. In fact, some instructors choose to invite students *before* they create any content, so they can upload relevant material as the school term progresses. #### 2.1 Create a team Your team should have been created when you activated your Education Plan. If you didn't create a team yet, then visit [our docs](https://docs.deepnote.com/collaboration/teams) to learn how. #### 2.2 Inviting students You can add students to the team by inserting their email addresses. For students to join your team, they will have to sign up for Deepnote. Note: the email address in the invite needs to match the one students use to sign-up. If this is a problem, there's also an option to generate a team invite link. Students who click this link will be prompted to sign up and will automatically join your team. We recommend giving students Viewer permissions, so they can see class materials but can’t modify themn. Other instructors such as TAs can have Member permissions, so they can edit all materials, or Admin permissions, so they can invite others. #### 2.3 Other options Note that creating a team is highly recommended, but it's not completely necessary. You can also share course material by generating public links. However, teams make it easier to share multiple private projects with the same group of people.

### 3. Sharing the assignment Students will see the projects in the team and they will have the option to duplicate it and work on it in their personal space. They can choose to invite a teacher or a TA to their project when they need help while they work on it. If you shared an individual link with the students, they will need to open them and hit duplicate to copy it to their personal space which makes them editable.
