We started Deepnote to solve the most difficult data science problems. But in order to do that, we don't just need better algorithms, bigger datasets, and more computing power. We need powerful tools that help us to reason, experiment, and collaborate. These tools do not exist yet. We need to invent them first.
Even though thousands of people are already using Deepnote at universities, research centers and top tech companies, we are still at the beginning of what's possible.
As a small team, we're looking for people who are ready to take ownership of big projects. We are looking for people who don't get lost when solving problems they've never encountered before. We are looking for people who never stop learning.
We're looking for brilliant Full Stack Engineers who want to work on the most difficult software engineering problems. Your responsibilities will range from gathering user feedback to writing beautiful and performant code. You'll become an expert in the data science tooling and we'll trust you to make the call which technologies we use and which features we implement.
It's great if you have experience building things in TypeScript and React. We use Node and Kubernetes on the backend, Postgres and Redis as our data stores, and Figma to design prototypes. We are looking for engineers who aim for the highest standards by thinking about features beyond the code.
We often find ourselves working on hard user interface problems where even a high fidelity prototype is not enough. As a Designer at Deepnote, you will work on every detail of our product features, from user feedback to UX to pixel-perfect execution. In interfaces like these, every pixel counts. You'll often code designs yourself because it helps us move fast and because every piece of interaction should be spectacular. Your work won't be just experimental, it'll be used by thousands of people every day.
It's important you have a fundamental understanding of the problems we are working on — not just as an outsider, but as someone who felt the pain and can quickly iterate on solutions using your own experience. For that reason, previous experience working on data science problems will be a big plus. You should also have an interest in cutting-edge HCI research because you'll become an expert on that.
You will get a chance to work closely with our marketing and community team to help capture our mission and tell our story using beautiful visuals.
You'll be joining as one of the first Infrastructure Engineers in the company. Your responsibilities will range from developing services that handle workflows of thousands of users. You'll be scaling our K8s cluster and encountering challenges that haven't been solved before. You'll often find yourself working with the latest cutting-edge features of Docker and K8s and you'll have your say in the choice of technologies we use and the features we implement.
We like to keep our infrastructure elegant and simple, but there are many hard problems that make us experiment with lots of stuff. It's great if you have experience building things with TypeScript, Node, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Redis but it's fundamental that you have a good understanding of distributed systems and systems architecture and can make good decisions between requirements and complexity.
We're looking for brilliant Product Managers with a passion for data science. You will become an expert on data science workflows and notebooks. You'll talk to users on a daily basis and prioritize feature development based on their needs. You will own and maintain the quality of the product that's going to be used by millions of users solving the world's biggest problems.
You will often need to uncover answers with data yourself and you'll often talk to our biggest enterprise customers analyzing their needs. It's great if you have experience with building SaaS products or developer tooling.
You'll be joining as one of the first HCI Researchers. You will be responsible for following the cutting-edge research in HCI and applying it to data science workflows. You'll be creating new models that can boost the problem-solving abilities of humans and implementing prototypes alongside our engineers and designers.
You should be excited about building efficient tools and systems that ease problem-solving. You should have extensive programming experience to implement and evaluate the most advanced ideas, as well as an ability to define short and long-term research goals.
We believe in our mission and we know there's no better place for us to execute on it. Your impact will be visible from day one. You'll work with people who are smart and motivated, but also kind. We expect the same from you.
As a startup, we heavily optimize for the execution speed and learning. You don't need an approval to make a decision.
We are primarily based in the beautiful cities of Prague and San Francisco, strategically located near delicious ice cream shops.
Wherever you are applying from, we always make sure that you have a chance to meet us in person. Therefore, we will cover all the costs and make your journey to Prague HQ as smooth as possible. Although most of us are based in Prague, we are an international team. You'll fit right in.
We're looking for people who are passionate and ambitious. You're encouraged to apply even if your background does not completely match the description. We want to work with people with diverse skills. We want to work with people who are not afraid to share their perspectives and challenge other opinions.
