We started Deepnote to help data teams solve the most difficult problems. To do that, we don’t just need better algorithms, bigger datasets and more computing power. We need powerful tools that inspire us to explore, reason and collaborate. These tools do not exist yet. We need to invent them first.

We’ve been working on building a next generation computational medium since 2019 and have customers like Gusto, Webflow, Ramp, Harvard University, and hundreds more on this journey with us. We’re building out the core team and we're looking for kind and curious people ready to grow with us.

😎 About you

A Data Advocate is the critical bridge between the Deepnote team and the vibrant community of analysts, data scientists, data engineers and explorers using our platform. We're looking for the right person to expand our community of users. As the Data Advocate, you will be the tinkerer, researcher and the voice of Deepnote to the entire market. You’ll be walking into a strategic role with lots of support from the CEO and our world-class EPD team, but the playbook is largely unwritten.

You have a solid analytics / data science background (Python, SQL, R) and experience using notebooks

You have a strong presence in the analytics / data science community

You're an exceptional external communicator, adept at interfacing with individuals (customers, partners) and large audiences alike

You're ready to own a program end-to-end and build an organization that will grow as a pillar of the company

You are driven, curious and opportunistic

You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving hard problems without a blueprint

You have a strong collaborative muscle, ability to work cross-functionally with other teams (e.g., design, marketing, sales, etc.)

🧑‍💻 What you'll work on

Write & create:

Develop content that highlights benefits and features of Deepnote in context of real-world use cases

Work closely with the Customer Team to tell stories about how Deepnote is being used in the wild and the value it provides

Partner with Engineering to keep the community up to date on the roadmap and releases

Develop and execute holistic launch plans for features and evolutions that require the community to react — understanding the scope of changes, working with developers to assess impact, constructing a timeline for rollout, and developing a process to guide the community through the changes

Talk about the future of data teams and notebooks

Customer & community advocacy:

Establish Deepnote’s presence in the broader analytics & data science communities and identify new opportunities for exposure and growth

Drive awareness around our product and mission at conferences, podcasts, and other forums to reach potential users

Figure out how we can leverage Deepnote's existing community around the world to build mindshare

Create and manage strong relationships between our own community and the Deepnote team, enabling us to build the best notebooks platform

Product experimentation & market research:

Build relationships with potential partners across the data ecosystem and identify opportunities where Deepnote can create value through integrations and partnerships (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, etc.)

Dogfood Deepnote to identify new use cases and improvement opportunities and translate those insights to Deepnote’s engineering and design teams

Experiment with new data tooling and write about what you’ve learned
