We are hiring a Senior or Staff Product Designer for our core notebook team to work on cutting-edge AI interfaces. You will be building a new generation of tools and interfaces that couldn't exist before. You will be focusing on AIUI. We think of AI as a new piece of grammar in User Interface design. It doesn't often happen that a new piece of grammar is introduced—definitely not at this scale. It happened in the 1960s with the introduction of the mouse, leading to GUIs as we know them today (windows, icons, links). Then it happened again with the release of the iPhone, leading to new UIs optimized for mobile devices.

And now it's going to happen again, this time with the AI/LLMs as the trigger. We are entering the era of AIUI. We’re seeking someone to help us craft novel and transformative user interfaces in this new paradigm. Someone who will define new patterns of HCI and build the best interface for people to interact with AI and data.

😎 About you

Out-of-the-box innovative thinker who is excited about novel technology and how it can solve new and old problems.

Years of experience in product design at a Senior, Staff, or Principal level, ideally within the space of AI, data, development, or productivity tooling.

Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, design, and product management teams.

Proven experience in delivering high-quality design solutions from start to finish, evidenced by a strong portfolio.

Visual craftsmanship and a focus on detail to deliver beautiful and delightful experiences.

Comfortable working in EU timezones, with efficient communication and collaboration skills.

Experience working in a fast-paced, iterative design environment with a high shipping velocity.

Self-starter with a natural sense for ownership and a bias for action.

A foundational understanding of code or a computer science background is highly desirable.

Passion for the data space.

🧑‍💻 What you'll work on

Leading the design of AIUI in the core part of Deepnote - notebooks.

Pushing the boundaries of conventional design to deliver innovative and beautiful solutions while researching and creating new patterns and ways how to interact with AI and data.

Continuous product discovery, including surveys, customer interviews and usability testing. You will become an expert of our customers’ problem space enabling you to design the best solutions.

Working closely with PM and Engineering within a cross-functional team - you will play a pivotal role in developing strategic initiatives and championing exceptional design.

Contributing and shaping up our design system and visual language.

You have experience with working on B2B PLG products.

You have worked on collaborative, analytical, or data products.

Degree in Computer Science or proven ability to write code.
