Because our sample volume can fluctuate by month, let's look at this as a the number of new substances detected per 100 samples completed.

In the first year, the lab 8 months, we rapidly detected the few dozen most common substances. From there, we have steadily added new substances detected. Checking for seasonal variations and not seeing much noteworthy.
