Coming soon
Integrations will no longer be global across your entire workspace—you'll be able to restrict access to specific teams like Data Science, Analytics, or Marketing, or even individual users. Control exactly who can access sensitive data sources and external connections, ensuring compliance and security requirements are met. No more creating multiple workspaces as a workaround—manage everything seamlessly within a single workspace.
Control access at the folder level to organize your team's work across different use cases and business domains. Set granular viewing and editing rights for specific user groups and individuals, ensuring the right people have access to the right content. This enhanced sharing flexibility makes collaboration more secure and efficient across your entire organization.
We're introducing snapshots, a powerful new way to track, debug, and share your apps, APIs, scheduled jobs, and modules. Every time these notebook artifacts run, Deepnote will automatically capture and store a complete record including all inputs that triggered the run, the exact block content at execution time, all outputs generated during the run, and important metadata like timing, status, and who triggered it. This feature brings production-grade observability to your data workflows.
We're releasing a fully updated and much more robust version of our Public APIs. Major improvements include executing notebooks with parameters, detached execution for API runs (separate from notebooks) enabling continuous notebook development while your API runs execute, parallel execution of multiple API runs with different inputs, and new endpoints for fetching run status and results. This is paired with our Snapshots feature, giving you a comprehensive view of all runs.
Under consideration
Simply ask a question and let Deepnote AI create a data app for you as an answer. The AI will handle creating the underlying notebook and offer an optimal presentation for your app to share with your stakeholders.
Find relevant information easier with AI-powered semantic search. Instead of relying on keyword searches, ask questions in plain language and let Deepnote AI do the work for you. It will retrieve relevant results from across your workspace and summarize the findings for you so you don't have to necessarily visit the individual notebooks. What's more, if there's no suitable answer in your existing projects, Deepnote AI can automatically fire up a new notebook to kickstart your new line of analysis.
We're building the foundations for Deepnote to become a data agent for other AI tools. Using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) developed by Anthropic, we'll enable Deepnote to be called directly by AI assistants to generate, analyze, and return answers powered by Deepnote AI. Imagine: Claude gets a question like "What were Q4 sales in Germany?", calls Deepnote, which spins up a notebook, runs the analysis, and returns the result (chart and all) in seconds. Reusable logic (modules) and notebooks can be shared and queried externally—your workspace becomes a data API powered by AI.
We're expanding the horizons of Deepnote AI's context. With this significant upgrade, Deepnote AI will draw knowledge from the entire workspace, not just your current notebook. It will recognize and leverage insights from similar projects within your organization, and ensure you don't reinvent the wheel by offering contextual and tailored recommendations. Imagine the power of an AI that understands your entire workspace and provides insights based on the collective intelligence of all your projects.
Customize native Deepnote charts through natural language, without limits. Ask for advanced chart types, reference lines, custom labels, and precise styling—all through simple conversation with AI. Because you shouldn't have to choose between powerful visualizations and ease of use.
We're exploring adding status indicators to Deepnote projects to help teams communicate project maturity and reliability. This would allow you to mark projects with statuses like "Draft," "In Development," "Completed," or "Verified/Trusted." Project statuses would help your team quickly identify which analyses are works-in-progress versus those ready for decision-making.
Securely embed private apps and dashboards that require authentication, extending beyond our current public embedding capabilities. Share sensitive internal applications with controlled access while maintaining full security and user permissions—no exposed links or compromised data. Enable your team to integrate private analytics and tools directly into their workflows without sacrificing enterprise-grade security.
Gain centralized oversight and control across all workspaces in your organization with a dedicated system admin who automatically becomes owner of every workspace. Separate administrative functions from product permissions—system admins exclusively manage billing, usage, security settings, and audit logs without needing access to project-level controls. Ensure enterprise-grade governance while keeping your team's day-to-day work permissions streamlined and secure.
Remove Deepnote branding (or replace it with your own branding) from the workspace, published projects, or embeds.
Automatically deliver PDF reports of your scheduled notebook runs and app results directly to stakeholders via email or Slack. Set up recurring distributions to keep teams informed without manual intervention—perfect for daily dashboards, weekly analytics, or monthly business reviews. Transform your Deepnote outputs into polished, shareable reports that reach the right people at the right time.
Collapse/expand content easily within headings so you can better control the level of detail needed when you share your work with others.
Work confidently on draft versions of your apps without affecting what viewers see—your changes stay isolated until you explicitly publish them. When you're ready, push your updates live with a single click, knowing you can instantly roll back to any previous version if needed. No more breaking production apps during development or duplicating projects as a workaround.
Do you miss any visualization or chart formatting option? Share your details with us to help shape the future of charting in Deepnote.
Rapidly manipulate DataFrames directly from the table visualization. Filter, sort, slice and pivot the data with intuitive controls and save the results of your editing.
Use multiple languages, such as Python, R, or Julia, in a single notebook.
Query your Looker semantic models directly in Deepnote. A native LookML integration would allow you to write SQL queries against your semantic layer without leaving Deepnote—ensuring metric consistency across your entire workflow.
Read files from Dropbox using an integration in Deepnote. Access your Dropbox files directly from your notebooks.
Query your Notion databases from within Deepnote, embed Deepnote apps into Notion pages, and more.
Easily connect Deepnote to external Spark clusters for large-scale data processing.
