API & MCP updates

• Publish Streamlit apps

You can now build & publish Streamlit apps through the API via POST /v2/streamlit-apps.

• Export and import entire projects

Two new endpoints make it easier to move, back up, and update complete projects:

GET /v2/projects/{projectId}/export downloads a project as a ZIP.

POST /v2/projects/{projectId}/import merges the ZIP into an existing project, including notebook changes, project renames, and integrations. You can revert changes thanks to conflict protection and an undo snapshot.

• Work with folders

Look up folders through API or MCP via list_folders.Full details in the Deepnote API docs.

• Rename notebooks programmatically

The new PATCH /v2/notebooks/{notebookId} endpoint lets users and agents rename notebooks without opening the Deepnote interface.

Build custom apps on top of notebooks

Introducing @deepnote/local-runner: an open-source toolkit for turning local or cloud Deepnote notebooks into simple custom apps. Let users enter inputs, run the notebook, and inspect outputs like tables and charts. Saves time from having to build the connection between a custom interface and a Deepnote notebook.

VS Code extension v1.6.0

Multi-notebook .deepnote files can now be split into separate files for each notebook. Files are grouped by project, making larger projects easier to navigate and manage in Git.
